Back from Christmas! ;-)
12/27/2006 by maria_capelli.
Wow–Christmas really overwhelmed me–all the preparations, buying presents, getting the food in. You know the deal! Anyway, the blog took a bit of a hit so I will try to be better. It’s just so hard at this time of the year, as I’m sure you are well aware. And since there aren’t any replies to my posts, I’m not sure anyone is out there reading this. :-( Please let me know if you are….
The most interesting thing I saw about juicing this week was a study that showed that people who drink at least 3 glasses of juice a week are 76% less likely to get Alzheimer’s disease. This falls rapidly to 16% for those that drink 1 or two glasses a week. Certainly shows the importance of drinking fresh juice–and it makes me really glad to know my family is well protected since we often hit double-digits of glasses of fresh fruit juice! It reminds me about how much you are supposed to drink when you are on the Gerson Protocol. But more about that tomorrow.
Time to go ice-skating! Have a great holiday period,
Maria.

Organic fruit puree juices
12/12/2006 by maria_capelli.
I was talking to some other mothers yesterday while picking the children up from school and it really amazed me what rubbish some parents give their children. Case in point was the preference for commercialized juice–the stuff that gets advertised all the time on TV, squarely aimed at kids since it’s on in the afternoon and early evening. This stuff is junk! It’s full of sugar and additives. What’s wrong with providing organic fruit puree juices? You can buy this in the shops and it’s 100% natural fruit juice. But why not make it at home. All you need is a juicer from http://juicers/organic-knowledge.com, a supply of fruit and/or vegetables and you can make the most deliciously healthy and tasty juice whenever you want it. And because it is fresh, it really does taste a whole load better.
Let me know your thoughts on this.

A couple of my favourite juice recipes
12/07/2006 by maria_capelli.
Today I thought I would share a couple of our favorite juice recipes. My three boys (including my husband ;-)) love these juices. So here they are:
Strawberry, Raspberry and Pear. Take a cup of raspberries, a punnet of strawberries and one pear. Pop them in the juicer and whizz until ready. Beautiful, even in winter!
Pineapple, Grape and Rock Melon. Half a pineapple, a couple of handfuls of seedless grapes and a quarter of a rock melon. Whizz it up and off you go!
Share any recipes you have–we’ll even get them included on a recipe page at http://juicers.organic-knowledge.com.
’till next time,
Maria.

Welcome to my juicing blog!
12/06/2006 by maria_capelli.
I am new to blogging, so please forgive me my mistakes(!) I have started this blog on http://juicers.organic-knowledge.com for two reasons:
1) because I am interested in learning about blogging, especially as a way to give me some sanity from the pressures of looking after two young boys
2) I have become passionate about the value of juicing since I have seen some of the benefits my family have experienced since juicing.
I will try and post something most days: experiences, recipies, thoughts, etc. I would really love it if you could comment or post your own items on this blog. What a great way to build a like-minded community of friends!
Your friend,
Maria Capelli
